Restoring your anodizing

Katie restores antique furniture for a living. To revive a finish that’s got dirty and dull over time she uses a mixture that contains turps, white spirit, ammonia and French Polish. Getting the Ano finish on your Nicolai back to its former glory is a lot easier.

First off give the bike a wash with soap and water to get the mud off (Hope’s Sh1t Shifter is excellent but we use often just car shampoo which, unlike washing up liquid, isn’t full of salt) and give it a chance to dry. Then just spray a load of WD40 or GT85 onto a cloth and wipe it over the frame. The ano should look like new again.
