Exchange Rate Surcharge

Current surcharge on total price (frame plus options) - 5%
Current stocklist - mail Simon if this hasn’t been updated for a while.

Currency Surcharge

As you almost certainly know, the exchange rate for sterling against the Euro has fallen significantly and is currently very volatile.  We’ve absorbed the loss up to now but are unable to maintain current prices for further orders. However, we’re not looking to increase our profit from this so are looking to make price changes as transparent as possible for the customer.

Until the exchange rate stabilises all new orders will be subject to a surcharge which will be confirmed at the time of ordering.  We will keep the current surcharge listed on this post.
Stock Frames
Frames we have in stock are at list price and NOT subject to the surcharge. If colour is specified delivery is a few days, if colour marked as tbc then you can choose from the current range for delivery in a few weeks.  Helius CC (HT) frames do not have the machined ‘N’ in the headtube but are otherwise identical to new orders (and of course still carry the 5 year warranty from purchase) - these are £1400 ex shock.

Demo Days 2009

If you’re looking to see a Nicolai in the flesh we’ve just confirmed two demo days we’ll be attending over the next few months.

May 16/17 Keswick Mountain Festival  with Keswick Moutain Bikes in Cumbria
June 13 Kona Mash up with Skyline Cycles at Afan Forest, South Wales

Nonius updated for 2009

The Nonius is an All Mountain classic - a simple, low maintenance, single pivot frame with 130mm of rear travel.
In line with Nicolai’s policy of continuous improvement we’ve quietly slipped through some changes. Althought the Nonius is our best value frame there’s no skimping on the great Nicolai build quality and design touches.  On the Nonius the ‘tie’ between the seat tube and downtube to countacts shock forces and keeps everything super stiff.

In response to rider feedback we’ve dropped the top tube to give more standover. To bring the looks up to date we’ve added smart new gussets to the head tube and seat tube and the machined Nicolai ‘N’ to the head tube.

Available now.

Truvativ Hammerschmidt compatibility

We can now offer Hammerschmidt compatibility on new orders for certain Nicolai frames. This requires an ISCG mount on a 73mm bottom bracket shell (get your dealer to order “ISCG-Hammerschmidt”) and the upcharge, where applicable, is the same as for normal ISCG.

If you want to run a front mech you’re better off with the standard 68mm bottom bracket shell.
Hammerschmidt compatibility can be specified for the following frames:

- Helius AM/FR/ST
- Ion ST
- Lambda ST
Unfortunately these beauties have been in short supply up to now and to have ridden one you probably had to be one of those ‘chosen ones’; a magazine editor. Now Hammerschmidt is ready for the masses and we’ve snapped up plenty of these lovelies. They are available from our stock now… so what are you waiting for? When ordering your frame you can spec with the complete crank gear including shifter and BBU. We can provide the Hammerschmidt All-Mountain version in 170 and 175 mm lengths, 22 or 24 teeth.
